There were 138 players which was comparable to the previous year, with an impressive turnout in the Minor and Intermediate Sections, along with some very highly rated players in the Open Section. Most pleasing was the large junior contingent (22 players under 18) with a junior player winning each of the lower three sections.

In the Open there were 15 players. First place was shared by Paul Macklin of Chorlton, and Joshua Pink of Stockport with 4.5 points.

The Major was won by Junior player Sam Davies of Tiger Chess with an impressive 5.5 points, in a field of 18 players. Dan Sheppard of Stockport finished 2nd with 4.5 points and took home the Stockport League Trophy.

A huge Intermediate Section contained 50 players and finishing in 1st place, dominating in this packed field was Junior player Sam Parry of Cheddleton & Leek who won out and finished on 6/6. Raven Morrello of Chorlton and Philip Cattermole of Macclesfield shared 2nd place on 5 points.

There were 55 players in the Minor Section, which saw Dawn Supatan of Ashton finish 1st with 5.5 points. Dawn won the U12 prize last year in the Minor and her brother Denzel was last year's winner!
